Platform Overview & Guidelines
What WatchLink is, where it's going, and the ground rules that keep it fun for everyone.
Welcome to WatchLink
We're a community built by watch nerds, for watch nerds. Whether you're just getting started or have been collecting and trading for years, our community has a place for you.
Our goal is to become the premier online watch community, and we need your help to get there. Post often and engage with others. The more engagement your posts get, the higher they rise in the feed.
Everyone's taste is different, so please be respectful and non-judgmental. We want everyone to feel welcome in our community.
WatchLink is still young, and we want to listen to you. Have an idea or see something missing? Tell us in our Platform Suggestion & Feedback Survey.
Please note — the strike systemTo help keep our platform running as a clean and safe environment for all, we've implemented a strike system. Once a user reaches three strikes, their account will be evaluated for a permanent removal from the platform. You can find out more in the Community Rules & Code of Conduct section.

- Include any sort of political discussions
Zero toleranceWe have a zero tolerance policy for counterfeit or fake items — please report any items you see that violate this rule.
An independent platform
WatchLink is not affiliated with any watch manufacturer or brand. We are not an authorized dealer for any products. WatchLink serves only as a community and platform connecting our users and allowing them to interact with others in the world of watches. We serve as a social network for lovers of watches. Users are responsible for accurately representing their items.

Community Rules & Code of Conduct
Clear rules. Real moderation. Safer deals. Here's what we expect from every member — and what you can expect from us.
Please noteTo help keep our platform running as a clean and safe environment for all, WatchLink has implemented a strike system. Once a user reaches three strikes, their account will be evaluated for a permanent removal from the platform.
We're a community, not a marketplaceWatchLink is not affiliated with any watch manufacturer or brand. We are not an authorized dealer for any products. WatchLink serves only as a community and a platform to connect our users to interact with others in the world of watches. Users are responsible for accurately representing their items.
The rules
No Counterfeit Items
WatchLink has an ABSOLUTELY ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for fake or counterfeit items. Knowingly promoting, posting, or selling one will result in an immediate ban. If you have concerns over the authenticity of a watch or its parts, we offer authentication services at a discount that can be found in the “Our Partners” portal on our platform.
WatchLink is a community platform, not a marketplace, so we are not responsible for items bought, sold, or traded here. We will do everything in our power to help, but at the end of the day it's up to your due diligence. Please immediately report anything that looks suspicious.
Strike System
To keep WatchLink clean and safe for everyone, we use a strike system. Users who break the rules below will be reviewed by a moderator and may receive a strike or ban. Three strikes puts an account up for permanent removal.
Please report anything you see that breaks these rules so we can keep the platform full of quality content.
We Are an Independent Platform and Community
WatchLink is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any watch manufacturer or brand. All trademarks, service marks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners. Use of brand names within this community platform is solely for identification and descriptive purposes. We do not assume any liability for user-generated content.
Spam, Scams, Fake Accounts, and Fraud
To keep WatchLink filled with quality content, fraudulent behavior is not allowed. Knowingly posting or assisting in it will result in a strike or a ban. Please immediately report any fake accounts or spam that you spot.
Inappropriate Behavior
WatchLink has a zero tolerance policy for any type of inappropriate content. This includes harassment, sexual conduct, impersonation, or any type of content that causes harm to other users.
Don't Back Out of a Deal
If you agree to a deal, please follow through with it. Stick to your word as this community is built on trust. Failure to follow through with any terms of an agreed-upon deal with other users will result in a strike to your account.
Shipping and Payment
Once you agree to a deal, please ship and pay promptly. Long delays on either side can be reported and may result in a strike. If you have no references, the general rule is to ship before receiving payment. If you and the other party can’t agree on terms, use our middleman and authentication services.
Interact at Your Own Risk
We’ll do our best to help with transaction issues, but WatchLink isn’t a party to deals unless you use our authentication or middleman services. Otherwise, it is up to you to conduct your own due diligence.
Descriptions
Keep your descriptions accurate and brief. Misleading users about key details will earn a strike, and long, filler-heavy captions distract users from what matters. Remember, the more engagement you get, the more people will see it.
No Authenticity or Pricing Posts
Please research your watch's value yourself rather than asking the community. If you're unsure about authenticity, we ask that you utilize our authentication services.
Pricing
Please price your pieces competitively. If you want to sell your watches quickly, you will need to price it below widely available, comparable items online. Above-market pricing on watches will not be approved by moderators.
Luxury & Quality Items
WatchLink is a community for high quality items only. Posts with low quality watches or brands deemed to be cheaply made by moderators will be denied (e.g. MVMT, modern Movado, Gucci).
Images
Please take high quality images and use good lighting to accurately portray your item's condition. Quality photos not only attract more interaction with your post, but they make the community more enjoyable for everyone.
Advertising
Please do not advertise other platforms or competitors. We welcome you to promote your store or watch business in your profile, but please do not try to fill our feeds or chats with advertisements.

Buy & Sell Feed FAQ
The WatchLink Buy & Sell feed serves as a platform to connect buyers and sellers of watches.
Please noteWatchLink doesn’t facilitate or take responsibility for transactions between members of the community on our platform. This includes agreements made, payments, authenticity checks, or disputes. We’ll do our best to help resolve issues, but users are responsible for their own due diligence. We simply connect buyers, sellers, and lovers of watches, so please follow our Community Rules & Code of Conduct to keep this community trustworthy and fun.
Services offered
WatchLink has partnered with and offers exclusive discounts to third-party providers to help you deal with confidence. Current services include:
Please find the list of providers in our partners portal on the platform. We’ll add more as opportunities arise. Have an idea? Let us know.
Can anyone buy, sell, or trade on the WatchLink platform?
Yes! Any of our users are more than welcome to engage in doing deals with other users, totally fee-free! However, certain features like our auction feed and ISO feed require a premium membership to post there.
What do these filters mean?
Finding the right watch is hard on other platforms, so WatchLink has filters to help. On our feeds, tap Filter and choose as many or as few options as you like. Matching watches will appear in your feed. To clear your selections, tap a category at the top and uncheck an option, or tap Clear All.
What does the Sort button do?
Tap Sort to organize your feed three ways:
- Most Recent: newest posts first
- Popular: posts with the most all-time engagement
- Trending: the most popular recent posts
I don’t understand some of the lingo. What does that person mean?
Whether you’re a longtime collector or just starting out, you’re welcome here. Watch terminology can be confusing, so we created the Dealer Lingo sheet to help.
I want to post my old watch. What does that process look like?
Tap the plus button, make sure the Buy/Sell toggle is on, add the relevant details and photos, and submit. Our team will review your post and approve it if it follows the community rules before it can be seen in the feeds.
I’m nervous about the authenticity of my watch. How can I make sure it’s real?
WatchLink has zero tolerance for counterfeits, but we don’t handle watches ourselves, so doing your own due diligence is up to you. If you think you’ve spotted or been sold a fake, report it to our moderators right away. We also offer authentication services to make deals safer and less stressful. You can find our authentication partner in the partner portal.
As a buyer, what are the common ways I should pay?
You and the seller decide the payment method. Common options are Zelle, wire transfer, ACH, Venmo, and PayPal. We recommend posting a reference check on the seller so others who’ve dealt with them can vouch for them.
What if the watch isn’t as described, or I have another dispute with the seller?
If you can’t reach a solution with the other party, contact us and we’ll do our best to help. For a counterfeit or misrepresented watch, a late shipment, or late payment, reach out to an Admin or Moderator. We’re committed to keeping WatchLink clean and safe.
What is a good way to determine if a seller is trustworthy?
Look for the green check next to a user’s name, which means they’ve completed ID verification. Verified users can also endorse other profiles.
We also recommend posting a Reference Check on the person you’re dealing with. Other users can vouch for them in the comments, so you can see how many people have transacted with them before. A vouch means someone is willing to put their own money and reputation on the line for that user.
Can I return the watch and get a refund?
WatchLink isn’t a party to your transaction, so we can’t control whether a return or refund is allowed. As a general rule, a good seller will accept a return within a reasonable window (about 48 hours) if the watch isn’t as described. If it arrived as described and you simply changed your mind, a seller is unlikely to take it back.
Do I have to pay taxes on my purchase?
Determining whether you pay taxes on your purchase is the sole responsibility of the seller.
My question or answer isn't on here. How do I get help?
If you do not see your question or can't find a proper answer anywhere, please either message a moderator or fill out our Help & FAQ Submission Form and let us know how we can help!
Discussion Feed FAQ
The WatchLink Discussion feed is a fun place to show off your collection, ask questions, learn, and talk about watches. Please do not try to post sales or advertisements.
Before you postPlease ensure to follow our General Community Rules & Code of Conduct to keep this community trustworthy, quality, and fun for everyone!
How does the Discussion Feed work? Can I post anything I want to discuss?
Not quite. We know you have plenty of opinions on other topics, like politics, but please keep your posts and comments related to watches. We also have premium member group chats for other non-watch topics, such as business-related questions.
Can anybody post in the Discussion Feed?
Yes! Any user can post on the WatchLink Discussion Feed. Please review the General Community Rules & Code of Conduct first so your post is approved and doesn’t break any rules.
How do I make a post in the Discussion Feed?
Tap the plus button, make sure the Discussion toggle is on, add your description (and photos if you like), and submit. Your post will go to our moderation team for approval before being published.
What does the Sort button do?
Tap Sort to organize your feed three ways:
- Most Recent: newest posts first
- Popular: posts with the most all-time engagement
- Trending: popular posts that also factor in date, so very old posts sink lower
Why can’t I filter on the Discussion Feed?
Since the Discussion Feed has no direct listings or items, we kept it simple and only offer sorting. If you’re looking for a specific post, you can still search by keyword. Have an idea for a filter? Fill out our Platform Suggestion & Feedback Survey or message an Admin or Moderator.

Auction Feed FAQ
Bid on watches from WatchLink’s premium dealers. Every bid is binding, so bid like you mean it.
Before you postPlease ensure to follow our General Community Rules & Code of Conduct to keep this community trustworthy, quality, and fun for everyone!
Can anyone buy a watch through the Auction feed?
Yes! Any member is welcome to bid on auctions and try to win a great deal on a cool watch. Just keep in mind that backing out of an auction after you’ve won will result in a ban from the platform.
Can anyone post an auction?
Not quite. Auction posting is reserved for premium members, who get unlimited access. Want to test it out? You can purchase a small pack of auctions (anywhere from 1 to 10), or invite 3 members to the platform and redeem an auction with your reward points once they’re credited.
Tap Sort to organize the auction feed:
- Ending soon: auctions closing first
- Newly listed: the latest auctions first
- Price: lowest or highest current bid first
What is the “Show active only / Show ended only” toggle for?
Flip it to see completed auctions and what they sold for. It’s a great way to gauge comparable watches, or get an idea of what something similar in your collection might sell for.
What does “soft close” mean?
Soft close stops last-second sniping. If a bid comes in during the soft close window before an auction ends, the auction is extended by that same amount of time from when the bid was placed, giving everyone a fair chance to respond.
I don’t understand some of the lingo. What does that person mean?
Whether you’re a longtime collector or just starting out, you’re welcome here. Watch terminology can be confusing, so we created the Dealer Lingo sheet to help.
I just won an auction, but I’m nervous about its authenticity. How can I make sure it’s real?
Auctions are posted by premium members, who are typically higher-volume dealers, so you can bid with a little more confidence. That said, WatchLink doesn’t handle watches ourselves, so due diligence is still up to you. Post a reference check on the seller, and to be certain, use our authentication services in the partner portal.
I just won an auction. What are some common ways I should pay?
You and the seller decide the payment method. Common options are Zelle, wire transfer, ACH, Venmo, and PayPal. We recommend posting a reference check on the seller so others who’ve dealt with them can vouch for them.
What if the watch I won isn’t as described, or I have another dispute with the seller?
If you can’t reach a solution with the other party, contact us and we’ll do our best to help. For a counterfeit or misrepresented watch, a late shipment, or late payment, reach out to an Admin or Moderator. We’re committed to keeping WatchLink clean and safe.

Do I have to pay taxes on my purchase?
Determining whether you pay taxes on your purchase is the sole responsibility of the seller.
What if I accidentally bid?
There are no accidental bids. Before any bid goes through, you have to check a box confirming you’re certain, so every bid is binding.
I bid and won, but now I don’t want the watch. What happens?
Once you win, you’re obligated to pay. You’re welcome to buy the watch and resell it on the platform. If you choose not to pay, you’ll likely receive a ban.
My question or answer isn’t on here. How do I get help?
If you do not see your question or can’t find a proper answer anywhere, please either message a moderator or fill out our Help & FAQ Submission Form and let us know how we can help!
